spent a little bit of yesterday looking at garage sales in our area. We really weren't going to go to any this weekend because of something that happened Friday night that cleared our "fun" fund for the month but the woman behind us is moving to Spain for a year(I know!) while her daughter finishes her last year of high school there. I can't even imagine how exciting that will be for them. Anyway, she was having a garage sale to get rid of a good portion of her stuff. I only got the printer's drawer from there. She had none of the things on our "to find" list so we walked back home having spent almost no money;) . Sometime in the middle of the afternoon though Nate saw a posting on FreeCycle for an estate sale that was now giving the last of the stuff at their garage sale away for free...so we headed over there and that's where we got some good stuff. I did pay for the shelves but they were brand new and only $35.00...they were exactly what I was looking to get for my kitchen:D and we got the other piece of furniture for free. We are SO excited about that one. It fits our living room exactly and it is really a neat piece. I like how it's already distressed, we're not changing it at all;)
The little pots used to hold cheese I guess which is funny since that's what I bought them for. I have mentioned my husband is now making homemade cheese...right? Well, if I haven't ...Nate is making homemade cheese now...and when I saw these little crocks I thought they would be perfect for holding some of the cheeses he'll be making in the next few months. We're also going to be making our own butter so...they'll be perfect for that too. One of these days I'll get around to talking about these recent changes we're making in our life. It's all part of the eating locally/slow food movement so...
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
